The Etxelagun project promoted by the ADINBERRI Foundation has received today the SDG Award, organised by the Sustainability Commission of the Official College of Basque-Navarrese Architects of Gipuzkoa and the HABIC Cluster.

It has been awarded the SDG award organised by the Sustainability Commission of the Basque-Navarrese College of Architects of Gipuzkoa and the HABIC Cluster

The Etxelagun project promoted by the ADINBERRI Foundation has received today the 'SDG Award', organised by the Sustainability Commission of the Official College of Basque-Navarrese Architects of Gipuzkoa and the HABIC Cluster. The initiative has been recognised in the Health and Wellbeing section, that is, in the third Sustainable Development Goal.

Etxelagun has been developed by the CAVIAR research group of the Department of Architecture of the UPV/EHU, with the support of ADINBERRI and the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, thanks to the Foundation's call for grants in 2021. The initiative is part of Gipuzkoa's HARIAK strategy against unwanted loneliness and proposes transforming the design of homes to mitigate loneliness.

The town councils of Beasain, Pasaia and Bidania-Goiatz have participated in the project and the result has been included in the Etxelagun Design Guide. The awards ceremony took place at the School of Architecture of Donostia-San Sebastián, within the summer course 'New European Bauhaus: strategies, solutions and opportunities to transform architecture'.

The award was collected by the head of innovation at the ADINBERRI Foundation, Ainhoa ​​Becerra, as well as the director of the Department of Architecture at the UPV/EHU, Olatz Irulegi, and her colleagues Miriam Varela and Claudia Pennese.
